CURRENT STATUS OF SAMANTHA SOLAR PROJECT

  • Samantha Solar has begun its Federal permitting activities and has begun the Variance process with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Information on public meetings will be posted to this website as they are scheduled.
  • Biological and cultural surveys are ongoing and will continue through the spring of 2025.
  • Our project team is working to complete BLM permitting by the end of 2025.
  • Once permitted, construction is expected to start Q3 2026 with completion and operations in Q4 2028.
  • The project will utilize the existing transmission line corridor to the east to access the existing Robinson Summit substation, a terminus of the new GreenLink North transmission line.
  • Access to the site will be along the existing Jake’s Wash Road.

Important dates

BLM schedule is pending, future dates are estimates.

2024

Samantha Solar intends to finalize the variance process and begin the NEPA process with BLM.

2023

Samantha Solar initiated the Variance Process with the Bristlecone Field Office of the BLM.

The project team began community outreach efforts.

Interconnection Agreements were signed with Nevada Energy.

2022

The boundaries of Samantha Solar were adjusted to avoid high quality Greater Sage Grouse habitat.

Interconnection requests were submitted to Nevada Energy.

2021

Samantha Solar Project was first submitted to the BLM for initial review.
